Job details

As Datel expands, we are looking for a dedicated Business Systems Manager to lead our skilled hybrid team.

What You'll Do

As Datel Computing expands, we require a dedicated Business Systems Manager to lead our skilled hybrid team, managing daily demands, planned maintenance, on/off boarding, security, and governance. The role involves balancing user needs with technological infrastructure, leveraging current and emerging technologies for business improvement while ensuring security and governance alignment. Our environment includes various solutions, such as privately hosted, SAAS-based, Microsoft Office stack, and development tools. The Internal IT team supports over 200 colleagues, incident management, infrastructure, and ongoing upgrade projects. We prioritise providing first-class support and adhering to information security policies, BCP, and DR. Additionally, the role involves investing in team development, infrastructure, and technology stack, aligning with organizational goals. It plays a critical role in operational evolution and future success by challenging current practices and enhancing technology delivery to support long-term objectives.

You’ll manage and develop the potential of our Internal IT Team, designing structures that foster Datel resilience and mitigate dependencies across both the team and wider business. This involves active collaboration with stakeholders throughout the business, managing external relationships, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements for solutions and infrastructure.

You’ll manage relationships with third party providers and assume ownership of internal systems, conducting comprehensive gap analyses to identify improvement opportunities whilst diligently managing IT spending, driving best value for money and enforcing preferred system solutions. Spearheading upgrades across our diverse application environment, while also maintaining business continuity and addressing information security requirements.

You'll also coordinate project-based roles and meticulously manage software asset licensing, ensuring strict adherence to security policies and reporting infringements as necessary.

What To Bring

This critical position within the organisation requires an individual equipped with the skills and experience to effectively engage with and, where appropriate, challenge senior management. Unlike a hands-on technical role, this position primarily involves management and development responsibilities where you’ll balance the demands of the team to support the business, build individual development plans to ensure success and support the investment we have made in our ICT (Level 3) Apprenticeship programme.

Prospective candidates should possess recent experience in this area with effective communication skills tailored to a diverse audience, spanning both technical and non-technical along with the ability to harness the relationship between stakeholders, the business, and the talent within the team, allowing you to manage the challenges that complex, and tightly integrated solutions bring. As such we are looking for someone with strong business acumen yet has the capability of challenging the technical experts. You will also demonstrate the need to understand requirements, to deliver the short-term needs, whilst mindfully planning for the long-term strategies and objectives.

Data Security, Governance, Information Security and Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Planning should be a common theme throughout.
