You’ll be part of a highly successful and respected sales development team, with responsibility for your own target while helping to drive the team towards success. You will be focused on generating new opportunities - nurturing and qualifying pipeline to the point where businesses are ready to engage with a salesperson to discuss their business software requirements further.
Sales development is critical to Datel’s opportunity generation and as a Sales Development Representative you’ll act as the link between marketing and the sales team. Good quality conversations through calls, emails and social will enable you to turn early-stage engagement and enquires into fully qualified sales opportunities. You’ll be engaging with buyers at every stage of their buying journey, offering them advice and guidance and priming prospects for decision making on their digital tech and business systems. You’ll be managing your time effectively so that you are building and maintaining a strong pipeline and nurturing prospects through to qualified opportunities.
You’ll work closely with this sales team to ensure buyers have the right engagement at the right time and have a positive experience of their engagement with Datel, whatever stage of the buying journey they are on.
We’re looking for someone with a natural ability to sell and build rapport with people at all levels across multiple channels, from over the phone, email and online to face to face at events. You will be confident and enthusiastic, self-starting and of a growth mindset.
Experience in a B2B sales or business development role is essential, with experience of nurturing pipeline through a long sales cycle as a distinct advantage. Any wider business experience will give you the context to confidently discuss different functions within an organisation.

Patience and perseverance will be enable you to deal with the longer and more complex sales cycles.
With the mixture of office based and remote working that comes with this role, you will utilise opportunities to collaborate with colleagues whilst having experience of successfully managing workload when working remotely.

You’ll report into the Business Engagement Manager, Stevie Hull , and work closely with the Head of Sales and the wider sales function; new business sales consultants, account managers and pre-sales consultants. The sales function within Datel is a close, supportive and successful team. We celebrate success through social events and the annual 100% trip; a sales incentive trip open to the Sales Development Representatives alongside other sales roles.
The bonus and commission plan is built to reward your success. It’s made up of bonus payments for opportunities passed to sales, hitting monthly and quarterly targets and a percentage of the margin when deals are won. There are built-in accelerators to reward over achievement whilst all commission and bonuses are uncapped at Datel, rewarding your hard work at determination to succeed.
