Holroyd Components company secretary shares her journey of outgrowing Sage 50 and the benefits of partnering with Datel.
Rebecca Matthews, Company Secretary at Holroyd Components Ltd, shared her experience of working with Sage partner Datel. Initially migrating from Sage 50 to Sage 200, she discusses how the move was a crucial step towards unlocking future technological opportunities for the business.
The limitations of Sage 50 were increasingly apparent to Rebecca, working within a company so reliant on technology, she recognised the need to change solutions to enhance efficiency and improve accuracy across the business. This has remained a focus whilst using Sage 200 for the last eight years to ensure that Holroyd Components can continue to meet the needs of their diverse customer base.
“We've made some great strides in recent years to really capitalise on some of the technological advancements that are coming through. We're very aware that technology is continuously changing, with AI coming in as well. We're really excited to see the opportunities that this might create for the business.”

With Sage 50 creating many limitations for Holroyd Components Ltd, Rebecca set out to find an answer. Not only did the business need a new financial solution that would drive efficiency, create new opportunities and increase functionality, they also needed a business partner with a high level of technical knowledge, who could support them through their migration journey and thereafter.
“Throughout a few months of research and working with different partners, we decided that Sage 200 was going to be the best solution for us. And that Datel was going to be a great partner to begin that working relationship and be able to support us moving forward.” Rebecca continued, “The level of technical support that we got from Datel was fantastic then, right through to present day. Whenever we have to raise any technical support tickets, we're always kept really well informed, and the communication is great throughout the whole process.”

Holroyd has been partnered with Datel and using Sage 200 since their migration from Sage 50 in 2016. Throughout that time, Holroyd Components Ltd has enhanced their Sage solution with a number of add-ons, creating a modular solution that fits their business needs perfectly.
“We have a number of add-ons with Sage 200 and they've really enhanced the package and what we can do. We've got Eureka, Sicon and Fusion solutions. All of those extra functions have given us extra levels of security, enhanced our performance, but also improved the level of service we can give to our customers.”

They've proved to us to be a partner we can trust and rely on with the amount of resources and know-how that they have. I feel confident that they can support any business in developing the systems and processes that they need to succeed.”
