Over recent years, Datel has continued to strengthen its position as the UK’s leading Sage partner, expanding its capabilities, investing in innovation and supporting more organisations with their digital evolution. With a clear strategy for growth across Datel Group, the business has reached an exciting point in its evolution.
Becoming a Pine Services Group business is a natural next step. It provides the investment, expertise, a community of like-minded businesses and the support to help accelerate our ambitions, while preserving the values, culture and customer focus that have underpinned Datel’s success for more than four decades.
The process to identify the right long-term partner was led by Datel's Stuart Morland and Emma Pownall, working closely with Alan Simpson throughout.
The team were advised by Alvarez and Marsal (Jonathan Boyers and James Gaffney) and were committed to finding a partner that would preserve the culture, values and customer focus that have made the business successful, while creating the strongest platform for future growth.

Saying farewell to Alan Simpson
This transition also marks the conclusion of an extraordinary chapter in Datel's history. After founding Datel in 1981 and leading the business for 45 years, Chairman Alan Simpson has chosen to step away following completion of the transaction.
Finding the right long-term home for Datel has been one of the most important decisions of Alan’s career, ensuring the business, its people and its customers are well positioned for the future.
