The world has changed, and it’s become critical for FD’s and the business software they use to change with it. It’s either that, or risk being left behind. So we’ve made a big change at Datel and have added a new product to our portfolio to help our customers flourish.
Over the years I have worked with hundreds of Finance Directors. I have spent a great deal of time with them, understanding their businesses and working together to build Sage solutions which support their needs and enable their companies to grow. But recently, accelerated by the Covid pandemic, I’ve witnessed changes in the world businesses operate in and with it - the role and responsibilities of the FD.
To be successful an FD must now be a proactive player in the Executive team. They shouldn’t just present bang up-to-date information, they should also provide insight and make strong recommendations on how best to proceed.
To achieve this they need cutting-edge Cloud based software. Financial software that can be deployed in no time at all and can easily be configured to rapidly changing processes. There’s a new breed of business, and their success relies heavily on speed.
You’ll have noticed the trend for products and services now being sold on a subscription basis. And that many start-up companies are opting to sell services rather than products. These fast growing businesses tend to establish multiple company entities and expand into numerous territories at lightning speed. For these businesses, it’d be virtually impossible to cope without modern finance software that’s built to operate and report at the same pace, if not faster.
Traditionally the true cloud software I have just described has not been in our product portfolio at Datel - meaning we had a gap to fill to enable us to cater for these businesses. So as Executive Chairman, I tasked one of our Executive team to research the market. He came back with a number of cloud options including NetSuite and Acumatica, but the product that stood out to us was Sage Intacct, from the software author we know and trust - Sage.
Intacct turned out to be the cloud based finance software that our customers have been asking for, and we knew that we’d be able to leverage our incredibly strong relationship as a Sage partner to ensure the software would work effectively for them.
Therefore I’m delighted to announce that Sage Intacct has become the latest addition to our suite of Sage business management technology - and is fast becoming a favourite. We of course still highly recommend the powerful Sage 200 solutions and Sage X3 solutions for product-centric businesses in the manufacturing and distribution sectors, and also for companies that require complex integrations and bespoke developments. But it pleases us greatly to now be able to cater to the specific requirements of service-orientated businesses with the latest addition to our Sage portfolio.
Sage Intacct support is an ideal choice for businesses within the Financial Services, Professional Services, Software as a Service and Not for Profit sectors - who don’t need full blown ERP software, but would benefit from slick tailored dashboards and real-time information at the drop of a hat.
So if you’re an FD looking to embrace change and tackle the demands of the new world head on, I’d highly recommend taking a look to see how a Sage Intacct partner can help you thrive and inform game-changing decisions for your business.
