Welcome to our latest update on Sage Intacct from Datel. August 2024 saw the release of Sage Intacct R3 2024. I’ll walk you through some of the standout features in this release, which I’ve highlighted in the video below. These updates are all about making your financial processes smoother, quicker, and more insightful. So, let’s dive into what’s new and why it’s worth your time.
Unapply Credits from Invoices
First up is a feature that’s been highly anticipated by many of you – the ability to unapply credits from invoices without having to reverse the entire transaction. If you’ve ever had to unpick an applied credit before, you’ll know how frustrating it was to reverse the whole thing and start again. Now, Sage Intacct has introduced an “Unapply” button directly in the payments list. This nifty little feature lets you remove a credit allocation from an invoice with just a click, allowing you to reallocate it to a different invoice if needed.
Why it matters
This update is all about giving you more control and flexibility over your payments. No more convoluted processes or wasting time on unnecessary reversals. This is especially helpful for businesses that handle a high volume of transactions and need to manage their credits with precision. It’s a small change that makes a big difference in your day-to-day operations.
Void Posted Payments Directly from the AP Payments List
Managing payments has never been easier with the new ability to void posted payments directly from the AP payments list. In the past, the method you’d use to void a payment depended on how the payment was made. This could involve hunting through various registers, whether it was a cheque, bank, or credit card payment, and voiding it from there. Now, Sage Intacct has streamlined the process by adding a Void link right on the Posted Payments page, regardless of the payment method.
Why it matters
This update is all about making your life easier. Whether you’re correcting an error or dealing with an overpayment, you can now void payments quickly and efficiently, without jumping through hoops. It’s a time-saver and reduces the risk of mistakes, giving your accounts payable team more time to focus on what really matters.
AI-Powered AP Automation
One of the most exciting announcements in this release is the global availability of AI-powered AP Automation. Following a successful early adopter programme, this feature is now fully rolled out and available to all Sage Intacct customers. So, what does this mean for you? Essentially, it’s going to make your invoicing process a lot smarter and more efficient. Sage Intacct can now automatically create draft AP purchase invoices from documents that you email or upload to the system. It extracts key information from the documents, matches it with your supplier records, and populates the invoice details for you.
Why it matters
This is a real game-changer for anyone looking to reduce manual data entry and minimise the risk of errors in their invoicing process. By automating these routine tasks, your team can spend less time on admin and more time on strategic activities like managing supplier relationships and optimising cash flow. It’s a great example of how AI can be used to take the hassle out of day-to-day operations and help your business run more smoothly.
Enhanced Email Delivery
Another update in this release is the enhanced email delivery feature. Sage Intacct now uses DKIM, a top email security standard, to ensure your emails are delivered quickly and reliably. The enhanced email log gives you detailed visibility into the delivery status of your emails, so you can see exactly what’s happening with each message. If your business operates across multiple domains, you can also authenticate more than one domain, ensuring everyone can benefit from this upgrade.
Why it matters
In today’s fast-paced business world, reliable email communication is crucial. Whether you’re sending out invoices, approvals, or any other important documents, you need to know that your emails are reaching their intended recipients without delay. This feature not only improves the reliability of your communications but also gives you greater transparency and control. It’s all about giving you peace of mind and helping you stay on top of your game.
Usage Insights
We also have the new Usage Insights feature. This tool provides a comprehensive view of how Sage Intacct is being used across your organisation. You can dive deep into key areas like transaction volume, usage patterns, access, and permissions, giving you a clear picture of how your team is interacting with the system.
Why it matters
Understanding how your team uses Sage Intacct is key to getting the most out of the system. With Usage Insights, you can spot trends, identify potential issues, and make informed decisions about training, system configuration, and resource allocation. It’s an invaluable tool for any business looking to optimise its financial management processes and ensure everything is running smoothly.
Final Thoughts
The R3 2024 release of Sage Intacct is packed with features that are designed to make your financial management more efficient, flexible, and insightful. Whether it’s unapplying credits with ease, voiding payments more simply, or leveraging AI to automate your invoicing, these updates are here to support your business as it grows.
