As we step into the new year we mark the passing of the significant December 2024 retirement milestone; Sage has officially retired support for Sage 1000 and Sage Line 500. This means that Sage will no longer provide updates, patches, or bug fixes for the software. Compliance and Helpdesk support has also ceased.

What does this mean for customers who have not migrated yet?

As your Sage business partner, Datel will continue to support you on a reasonable endeavors basis, and plan to do so up to 2029. That said, it’s important to be aware of the risks of staying on Sage 1000 or Sage Line 500. These may include increased vulnerability introduced through updates to your wider business platforms, cyber risk, which brings with it the potential for business disruption and reputational damage, and compliance challenges, where maintaining accreditations require software to be up-to-date and compliant.

In this short video Sage’s VP of Retail and SSG Stephen McNicol explains what the retirement means for customers and why it's critical to take action.

The time to start your migration journey is now
